What’s up with Frances Tiafoe? And what’s going on at the LHC after the Open Finals?
I am wondering what it’s like to be in this position. You’re being profiled in magazines. I saw you in Vanity Fair. There are N.B.A. stars in your box. It’s got to be pretty wild.
I keep talking about it. That saying that your life can change overnight is 100 percent true. After I beat Rafa Nadal at last year’s Open, I felt like I was looked at totally different. You don’t realize how crazy it is when you’re doing it. After I go home and buy some things at the drugstore, the ladies are like “Oh my God, this is you.” It has been crazy. It’s definitely not meant for everybody. It is a life shift.

Why you shouldn’t hang out with strangers, but you shouldn’t. What’s a good reason why you should stay on the site? When you don’t want to lose, what’s next?
Solid people are needed around you. Don’t really live by it, because everybody says that. A lot of people are going to want to take your time. Everyone wants to be your best friend. The famous guy wants to hang out, and he can do it at that time, but you maybe need to not do that. And I think the biggest thing for me is learning to say no. I have to do a better job of that. I’ve seen it eat a lot of people up. It gets to their heads.
I think it would be cool to have an in-depth conversation with Matt Damon about my new brand partners, he is a big fan. I can’t do it, can’t leave. I got to play a tournament. And it’s like, ahhh.
You know, like, going on “The Shop” with LeBron — stuff that I’ve wanted to do, but scheduling just hasn’t quite worked out. And then obviously parties. You should play a tournament even though you will get invited. What’s the reason people know you? You should at least stay on it.
